Day 2

 This was a shorter day but not necessarily easier. Walking on soft sand is tiring and from time to time one has to get rid of sand from the shoes and socks. I had to spend half an hour in the shower to be able to wash my feet. Yet the landscape was rewarding. As well as the sunset later on.

 And here we are at point zero, i.e. Porto Covo. Walking will start tomorrow morning, just relaxed. 20 km-s distance is a good start, we are optimistic since the weather is excellent, not too hot and slightly windy.

Preparing ourselves

A few years ago, three of my former classmates and I decided that since we were scattered around the world, we could meet up in a different place every year. First, Barcelona was the location, then Madrid came, and now we are preparing for Faro. But in the meantime, Dalila asked if we wouldn’t continue with a little hiking after the meeting (with Maya and Paloma in addition to us)? From this came the plan to walk the Fisherman’s Trail, a more than 200 km long road along the Portuguese coast. We will write more about the details of the plan later, but right now I really just want to start the blog. I am writing our first post in 3 languages, just to indicate where our readers are from. I hope so. Then we will only write in English, and anyone who is really interested in what is happening with us will translate it. Or just look at the photos.
