Day 1: Porto Covo to Milfontes 22 Km






 Soft deep sand, ocean waves, heat.

Spectacular views. 

The two travelers separated at Km 10-unfortunately. A taxi was easily to find and rest at the hostel did wonders for the sick one. We hope for a better day tomorrow. 

So far, Portugal is very friendly, modest, and very beautiful. Sun shining all day but the temperature is about 20 (Celsius)-jacked needed, especially in the evenings. Atlantic Ocean is very cold-no way to get into the water-at least for now.

 And here we are at point zero, i.e. Porto Covo. Walking will start tomorrow morning, just relaxed. 20 km-s distance is a good start, we are optimistic since the weather is excellent, not too hot and slightly windy.

Preparing ourselves

A few years ago, three of my former classmates and I decided that since we were scattered around the world, we could meet up in a different place every year. First, Barcelona was the location, then Madrid came, and now we are preparing for Faro. But in the meantime, Dalila asked if we wouldn’t continue with a little hiking after the meeting (with Maya and Paloma in addition to us)? From this came the plan to walk the Fisherman’s Trail, a more than 200 km long road along the Portuguese coast. We will write more about the details of the plan later, but right now I really just want to start the blog. I am writing our first post in 3 languages, just to indicate where our readers are from.
